Amarinder Singh a 'fighter', says Pilot amid Punjab poll reshuffle

Sachin Pilot acknowledged Amarinder Singh's contributions to the Congress party, particularly his efforts in mobilizing younger party workers and encouraging them to challenge the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.

"He's done a lot of work for young people and has actively encouraged them to come forward and fight the AAP," Pilot said, underscoring Singh's role as a grassroots mobilizer for the party.

However, Pilot indicated that the party's decision-making process involves multiple considerations during election cycles. "During elections, there are many things that one considers," he stated, referring to the Congress leadership's decision to appoint new party presidents in both Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

The remarks come as the Indian National Congress undertakes organizational changes ahead of crucial state assembly elections. While Pilot suggested Singh would play "a very important role" in Punjab's upcoming polls, the comments hint at broader strategic realignments within the party's leadership structure.

The Congress party has faced significant electoral challenges in Punjab in recent years, with the Aam Aadmi Party emerging as a major political force in the state.
