Ambani's wealth increased by 7.85 per cent, or $6.3 billion, according to Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires list updated on November 2, making him the world's biggest wealth gainer. The extraordinary gain substantially outpaced the second-largest wealth accretion on the list, with Spanish retail magnate Amancio Ortega adding $1.7 billion and China's Zhong Shanshan gaining $1.5 billion.
Reliance Industries' shares surged following better-than-expected quarterly earnings, triggering the significant jump in Ambani's personal wealth. The gains propelled him to the 23rd position on the global billionaire rankings, with a total wealth of $88.8 billion according to the Forbes listing.
The development also consolidated Ambani's position as India's richest individual, ahead of Gautam Adani, who was ranked 26th globally with a wealth of $79.12 billion. Ambani's net worth now stands approximately $9.7 billion ahead of Adani's, extending his lead among the country's wealthiest entrepreneurs.
