Shah arrived at the police headquarters on Jai Singh Road in the afternoon, where senior officers briefed him on the force's performance, ongoing investigations and critical law enforcement priorities, officials said.
The visit focused on several pressing issues including recent protests by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), counter-narcotics operations, action against criminal networks operating from abroad, and efforts to combat crimes against women, according to police sources.
The home minister's inspection comes as Delhi Police faces heightened scrutiny following allegations of excessive force deployment during the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' march in July. Officials indicated the meeting would examine the circumstances surrounding the protest action, police response protocols and preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in future.
Senior police leadership used the opportunity to apprise Shah of the force's ongoing efforts to maintain public order while managing large-scale demonstrations in the national capital, sources added.
