Amnesty documents excessive force by police during Delhi protests

The organisation's investigation verified witness testimony and visual evidence of authorities deploying pellet-firing shotguns, tear gas launchers, grenades, batons and electric shock devices against demonstrators.

The documented incidents represent a pattern of law enforcement response that human rights advocates argue exceeded proportional and necessary measures for crowd control. Amnesty's methodology included cross-referencing eyewitness accounts with photographic and video documentation to establish the presence of specific weapons and tactics at protest sites.
