An Giang province has implemented a dedicated legal framework to accelerate infrastructure development at major construction sites, removing bureaucratic bottlenecks that previously hampered progress on projects critical to the province's APEC 2027 hosting responsibilities.
The streamlined approval process is expected to expedite work across multiple sectors including airport facilities, urban transportation networks, water supply systems, drainage infrastructure, and environmental remediation projects. These upgrades will primarily benefit Phu Quoc, the province's flagship economic zone, which is slated for significant transformation ahead of the international summit.
Provincial officials view the APEC 2027 preparations as a catalyst for longer-term development. Beyond the forum itself, completed infrastructure investments are projected to generate sustained socio-economic momentum for the special zone over the coming decades. Enhanced digital infrastructure alongside physical upgrades are expected to position Phu Quoc as a more competitive business and tourism destination.
The initiative also aims to capitalize on employment and entrepreneurial opportunities created by the construction timeline. Provincial leaders have emphasized the importance of establishing clear deadlines for all APEC Year 2027 preparatory work to ensure coordinated implementation across government agencies and private sector partners.
