Andhra CM pushes ambitious expansion of Venkateswara temples across state
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has outlined an expansive plan to establish 5,000 Venkateswara temples throughout the state, citing global demand for the religious institutions. The announcement came during a review of development initiatives for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Chief Minister Naidu stressed the importance of scaling up the number of Venkateswara temples across Andhra Pradesh, noting that countries including Mauritius and New Zealand have expressed interest in establishing similar facilities. The initiative reflects efforts to strengthen the state's cultural and religious infrastructure while meeting international demand.
During his review of TTD plans, Naidu called for comprehensive modernization of the organization's operations. Key proposals include integrating TTD hospitals to improve healthcare delivery and implementing a net-zero emissions framework for both Tirumala and Tirupati townships, aligning with sustainable development goals.
Infrastructure connectivity emerged as another priority, with plans to construct a skywalk linking Tirupati railway station and the bus terminal. The project aims to enhance convenience for pilgrims and travelers visiting the region's prominent religious sites.
The initiatives collectively underscore the state government's commitment to positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major pilgrimage destination while modernizing facilities and adopting environmentally sustainable practices across its sacred centers.
