The state government has granted approval to AM AI Factory Pvt Ltd to establish a green integrated AI data centre facility with a capacity of 512 megawatts in Visakhapatnam district. The project, involving an investment exceeding ₹31,387 crore, is slated for completion within two years and four months, according to a Government Order issued by IT Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni.
The facility will be located at Amanam village in Bheemunipatnam mandal, positioning the state as a growing hub for cutting-edge computing infrastructure. Officials project the project will generate employment opportunities for approximately 1,000 people, contributing to job creation in the region.
To facilitate the development, the Andhra Pradesh government will extend both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. The state will provide power infrastructure support and guarantee water supply, among other essential facilities. Fiscal benefits include exemptions from stamp duty and electricity duty, designed to reduce the project's operational costs and enhance its financial viability.
The approval represents a significant step in Andhra Pradesh's efforts to attract technology investments and position itself as a destination for data centre and AI infrastructure development in South Asia.
