Andhra Pradesh approves two delayed dearness allowance hikes for state employees

The Andhra Pradesh government has cleared two consecutive dearness allowance revisions that were pending with its workforce, officials said. The dual increase will result in a cumulative DA hike of 4.55 percent for state government employees.

The revised dearness allowance will be implemented from September onwards, with the increased amounts payable in October salaries. This decision comes as relief to state employees who have been awaiting the DA hikes for some time.

Dearness allowance, a cost-of-living adjustment component of government employee salaries, is periodically revised to account for inflation and changes in price indices. The dual revision sanctioned by the state government reflects the accumulated adjustments that were due to employees.
