Andhra Pradesh Fire Services has cleared the way for firecracker sales during Diwali by issuing permits to over 4,200 retail outlets across the state. The decision aims to regulate the sale of pyrotechnic products while ensuring public safety during the festive season.
According to Fire Services Director General Venkata Ramana, all traders seeking to sell crackers must obtain licenses through an online portal that remains open until the festival day. This digitized licensing system is intended to streamline the approval process and maintain comprehensive records of authorized dealers.
The Fire Services has emphasized that crackers should only be sold through licensed shops that comply with established safety precautions. Retailers operating unauthorized outlets or failing to follow prescribed safety measures could face action under relevant regulations.
The permitted shops are expected to stock firecrackers within state-approved guidelines while educating customers about responsible usage and safety protocols. The initiative reflects efforts by the Andhra Pradesh authorities to balance traditional Diwali celebrations with public health and safety considerations.
