Vote counting operations commenced on Wednesday for local body elections held across Andhra Pradesh, with senior election officials monitoring proceedings at various counting centres. State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha and other top-ranking officials from the state election department were present to oversee the tallying of votes cast in Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) and Municipal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs).
The counting process follows the completion of polling in the local body elections, which determine representation in district and municipal councils. Election officials implemented standard protocols to ensure transparency and accuracy in the vote tallying process.
With results expected to be finalized over the coming hours, the election commission maintained close surveillance to prevent irregularities and ensure adherence to electoral guidelines. The local body elections are significant indicators of political sentiment at the grassroots level in the state.
