Andhra Pradesh bids for global manufacturing crown with investment surge

Andhra Pradesh is mounting an aggressive push to establish itself as a global manufacturing hub, with state ministers highlighting the region's investment momentum at a CII regional summit in Visakhapatnam. The positioning comes as the state has recorded substantial capital commitments, with officials noting that investments have exceeded ₹8.67 lakh crore over the past two years.

Foreign direct investment has emerged as a key growth indicator for the state's industrial ambitions. FDI inflows surged to $608 million in 2025–26, representing a significant jump from $92 million in 2023–24, demonstrating growing international confidence in the state's business environment.

The investment figures underscore Andhra Pradesh's efforts to diversify its economic base and attract manufacturing operations across sectors. State officials are leveraging the state's infrastructure development, policy incentives, and geographic advantages to position it competitively against other Indian manufacturing destinations.

The CII summit presentation reflects the state government's strategy to engage industry bodies and business leaders in showcasing investment opportunities. Officials emphasize that infrastructure improvements and governance reforms have been central to attracting both domestic and international capital.

As manufacturing activity gradually shifts across Indian regions, Andhra Pradesh's increased investment traction suggests the state is successfully competing for a share of global supply chain relocations and domestic industrial expansion.
