Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approves four new Police Commissionerates across state

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has cleared proposals for establishing four new Police Commissionerates in key cities across the state. The new commissionerates will be headquartered in Rajamahendravaram, Guntur, Tirupati and Kurnool, expanding the state's policing apparatus to better serve residents in these regions.

Beyond the police infrastructure initiative, the Cabinet also approved several power sector proposals during its meeting. The approvals include revised administrative sanctions totalling ₹463.55 crore allocated for works under the Hydro-Nuclear Security System (HNSS) project, which is designed to enhance the state's energy infrastructure.

In a separate move to improve government communications, the Cabinet gave its nod to the Social Media Influencer (SMI) Policy. The framework aims to identify, verify and empanel credible social media influencers who will help disseminate information about government schemes to the public through digital channels.

The decisions reflect the state government's broader strategy to strengthen administrative capacity, improve public services, and leverage modern communication channels to enhance citizen engagement with government programmes.
