Andhra Pradesh CM distributes house titles to 939 families in Nellore

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday virtually distributed permanent house titles to 939 families in Nellore district, marking a significant step in the state's housing initiative for economically disadvantaged groups. Conducting the ceremony from his camp office, Naidu oversaw the distribution of ownership documents to beneficiaries, a majority of whom are women from low-income households.

The programme was welcomed by recipients as an early Dasara gift, with property titles providing legal ownership and security to families residing in informal settlements and unauthorised colonies. The distribution represents the state government's commitment to formalising housing rights for vulnerable populations and ensuring their access to basic civic services.

Collector officials confirmed that the state intends to accelerate the initiative further, with plans to distribute house titles to approximately 4,000 additional poor families in the coming months. The expansion of the scheme underscores the government's broader agenda to address housing shortages and property security among economically weaker sections across Andhra Pradesh.

The Nellore distribution forms part of a larger state-wide housing regularisation programme designed to provide legal documentation and tenure security to residents of unauthorised settlements and slum areas across multiple districts.
