Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu has declared that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been fully exonerated in the Andhra Pradesh Social Services Development Cooperative (APSSDC) case, marking a significant moment three years after the former chief minister's arrest.
Atchannaidu, speaking on the outcome, said the court had given Naidu a "clean chit" following the legal proceedings that saw the TDP leader spend 53 days in detention. The minister used the occasion to launch a political attack on the opposition YSRCP, urging voters never to return the party to power.
The APSSDC case had drawn significant attention when Naidu was taken into custody, becoming a focal point in Andhra Pradesh's political landscape. The court's verdict now appears to provide legal validation to Naidu's position that the charges against him were baseless.
The YSRCP has not yet responded to Atchannaidu's remarks. The case has remained a contentious issue in state politics, with differing interpretations of its implications for governance and political accountability in Andhra Pradesh.
