Andhra Pradesh CM orders rapid cyclone response: Clear debris, restore power quickly

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu convened a comprehensive teleconference on Wednesday morning with approximately 32,000 government officials and field-level staff to coordinate disaster response measures for Cyclone Arnab. During the virtual meet, he emphasized the need for swift action to minimize disruptions to essential services and public life across the state.

Naidu instructed officials to prioritize the clearance of fallen trees and debris from roads and public areas within two hours of the cyclone's passage. This rapid response protocol aims to ensure that transportation networks remain functional and that emergency response vehicles can move freely if needed.

The Chief Minister also directed power department officials to restore electricity supply immediately after wind speeds subside to safe operational levels. He stressed that early restoration of power would be critical to reducing hardship among the affected population and enabling rapid normalization of daily activities.

The large-scale coordination exercise underscores the state government's preparedness to manage the cyclone's impact. By engaging such a substantial number of officials across different departments and field levels, authorities seek to ensure a coordinated and efficient response across Andhra Pradesh.
