Andhra Pradesh CM to launch housing scheme, marine conservation project in Vizag

District authorities in Visakhapatnam have finalised arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit to the coastal city on September 19, which will focus on welfare distribution and environmental conservation initiatives. The day will see the presentation of house-site pattas—land ownership certificates—to 26,426 beneficiaries, a significant step in the state's housing programme targeting low-income families.

Beyond the housing distribution, the visit will mark the formal launch of the Nirmal Sagar pilot project, a pioneering initiative aimed at beach cleaning and marine waste recycling. The scheme will be inaugurated on Beach Road with the active participation of the United Nations Development Programme, reflecting efforts to combine livelihood generation with environmental protection.

The Nirmal Sagar project represents a collaborative approach to addressing coastal pollution while creating economic opportunities in waste management and recycling sectors. Officials say the pilot will serve as a model for similar initiatives across other coastal regions if successful.

The Collector's office has confirmed that all logistical and security arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit have been reviewed and finalised, with preparations underway to facilitate smooth execution of both the housing scheme distribution and the marine conservation project launch.
