Andhra Pradesh Police has deployed 36,351 personnel to oversee security arrangements for the forthcoming urban local body (ULB) elections in the state. The comprehensive deployment reflects efforts to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the polling process.
The security operations will be supervised by 34 Superintendents of Police and 52 additional Superintendents of Police, who will coordinate across different jurisdictions to ensure effective implementation of ground-level arrangements. This hierarchical command structure aims to provide consistent oversight across all polling locations and sensitive areas.
The scale of the police deployment underscores the significance accorded to the urban local body elections, which are crucial in determining the local administration in various cities and towns across Andhra Pradesh. Security personnel will be stationed at polling stations and strategic locations to facilitate a transparent electoral process.
The state election authorities have coordinated with the police department to develop a comprehensive security plan that addresses potential flashpoints and ensures voter safety. The deployment strategy takes into account the distribution of polling booths across urban centres and anticipated voter turnout figures.
