Andhra Pradesh devotee donates jewelled gold crown to Kanaka Durga temple

The crown, crafted from pure gold and weighing 494 grams, features an intricate design studded with red, blue, white and green stones. The devotee from Srikakulam presented the valuable offering to one of Andhra Pradesh's most prominent Hindu temples, reflecting a long-standing tradition of religious patronage in the region.

The Kanaka Durga temple at Indrakeeladri, perched on a hillock overlooking Vijayawada, is among the most significant shrines dedicated to the goddess Durga. The temple has historically received substantial donations from devotees seeking blessings and fulfilling religious vows.

In recognition of the generous contribution, the temple administration has accorded special privileges to the donor's family, including exclusive darshan arrangements. Such honours are customarily extended to major benefactors who make significant offerings to the temple's religious and structural development.

The crown will now become part of the temple's sacred repository of offerings, enhancing the deity's ceremonial adornments during important festivals and religious observances throughout the year.
