Andhra Pradesh DGP inaugurates police welfare facilities at Mangalagiri

The Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday laid the foundation stone for three major infrastructure developments at the Mangalagiri police establishment. The projects include 'Vihara' and 'Vihari', residential facilities for police personnel, alongside a central police canteen designed to serve the broader police community in the region.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance working conditions and welfare amenities for law enforcement personnel across the state. The residential quarters are expected to provide improved accommodation options for officers and their families, while the centralised canteen facility will offer subsidised meals and support services to staff members.

Mangalagiri, a key police establishment in the state, has been selected as a focal point for these infrastructure improvements. Officials indicated that similar welfare projects may be rolled out across other police stations and headquarters in Andhra Pradesh to standardise facilities statewide.

The construction of these facilities is expected to be completed within the scheduled timeline, pending administrative and budgetary approvals. The development reflects the state's commitment to modernising police infrastructure and prioritising officer welfare as part of its broader law enforcement strengthening programme.
