Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat explore port-driven growth partnership

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Lokesh has outlined possibilities for deepening economic cooperation with Gujarat through port-led development initiatives. During discussions with his Gujarat counterpart, Lokesh emphasized the potential for both states to harness their coastal advantages for shared prosperity.

The focus of the engagement centred on building bilateral logistics and commercial infrastructure that could benefit businesses in both regions. Such a corridor, officials suggested, would streamline trade flows and reduce transaction costs for industries operating across the two states.

Andhra Pradesh, home to major ports including Visakhapatnam, and Gujarat, with its significant maritime infrastructure, possess complementary strengths in port operations and maritime commerce. Collaborative frameworks could unlock efficiency gains in cargo handling, warehousing, and supply chain management across the broader region.
