Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu underscored the state's commitment to social security schemes during a monthly pension distribution event in Bapatla district on Tuesday. According to Naidu, the state government has disbursed ₹76,000 crore towards pension schemes, reflecting the administration's prioritization of welfare measures for vulnerable sections of society.
Addressing beneficiaries at the event, Naidu reiterated his philosophy that a chief minister should operate as a representative of ordinary citizens rather than maintaining distance from the populace. He emphasized the importance of maintaining direct contact with beneficiaries to understand their needs and challenges.
During the visit, Naidu provided an overview of the state government's initiatives across various sectors, highlighting development works undertaken across Andhra Pradesh. The monthly pension distribution programme remains a key component of the state's welfare architecture, aimed at providing financial security to elderly, disabled, and marginalized populations.
The Chief Minister's remarks underscore the government's focus on balancing welfare expenditures with broader developmental objectives, as Andhra Pradesh continues implementing schemes aimed at poverty alleviation and social security in the post-bifurcation period.
