Andhra Pradesh launches student video contest on energy conservation

Andhra Pradesh has launched a state-level short video competition aimed at raising awareness about energy conservation among school students. The contest is open to participants from Classes 7 to 10 across government, aided, and private educational institutions throughout the state.

Students are invited to submit videos ranging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes in duration, addressing various aspects of energy conservation and sustainable practices. Entries can be submitted in Telugu, English, or Hindi, allowing broader participation across linguistic groups in the region.

The initiative, coordinated by the State Commission for Environmental Conservation and the School Education Ministry, seeks to engage young learners in environmental issues while fostering creative expression. By encouraging students to produce video content on energy-saving topics, organisers aim to build awareness about conservation practices among the school-going population.

The competition provides a platform for students to showcase innovative ideas and solutions related to energy efficiency in households, schools, and communities. Officials have indicated that the contest is designed to make environmental education interactive and engaging for younger age groups.
