Andhra Pradesh makes farmer ID mandatory for government grain procurement

Andhra Pradesh authorities have issued directives making Farmer ID registration a prerequisite for farmers seeking to sell their produce through government procurement channels. Land parcels must be formally linked to valid Farmer IDs before farmers can access procurement centres, according to officials overseeing the initiative.

The move is aimed at streamlining the procurement process and ensuring transparent record-keeping as the state gears up for the Kharif season. By requiring farmers to maintain updated identification tied to their landholdings, the government seeks to create a more organized system for tracking agricultural sales and disbursing payments.

Farmers who have not yet obtained or updated their Farmer IDs are being advised to complete the registration process immediately to avoid disruptions when procurement operations commence. The requirement applies across all government-designated procurement centres in the state.
