Andhra Pradesh is advancing construction of a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory facility valued at ₹253 crore, with officials projecting full operational status by January 2027. The Director-General of Police confirmed the timeline during recent discussions about the project's progress, indicating that the infrastructure development remains aligned with scheduled completion dates.

The forensic laboratory represents a major capital investment in the state's criminal justice apparatus, designed to enhance investigative capabilities and reduce case backlogs through advanced scientific analysis. Once operational, the facility is expected to serve law enforcement agencies across the state by providing comprehensive forensic examination services including DNA analysis, ballistics testing, and chemical forensics.
