Andhra Pradesh seeks Union nod for NH-42 bypass construction

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to advance the state's infrastructure development agenda. During the meeting, Keshav submitted formal proposals for constructing bypasses along National Highway 42, a key arterial route serving the state.

The bypasses are aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion on the busy national highway corridor. The construction of these alternate routes is expected to ease vehicular movement and enhance connectivity across the region.

According to an official release from the state government, Gadkari has accorded in-principle approval to the proposed works. The decision signals the Union government's willingness to support Andhra Pradesh's infrastructure expansion plans on this critical national highway.

The approval is expected to pave the way for detailed project planning and feasibility studies. Further coordination between state and central authorities will determine the timeline and budget allocation for the bypass construction projects.
