A software engineer from Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh has been reported missing following devastating flash floods in Nepal, prompting his family to seek urgent assistance from authorities. V.S. Balasubrahmanyam, who was participating in a Kailash Manasarovar Yatra pilgrimage group, travelled to Nepal on August 13 before the natural disaster struck the region.
The family has launched appeals for help in locating the engineer as rescue and recovery operations continue in the flood-affected areas. Flash floods in Nepal have caused significant damage to infrastructure and communities, with many pilgrims and tourists affected by the sudden weather event.
The disaster has highlighted the risks faced by pilgrims undertaking the challenging Kailash Manasarovar journey, which involves high-altitude trekking through remote and mountainous terrain. Authorities in both Nepal and India have been coordinating efforts to account for missing persons and assist affected pilgrims.
