Andhra Pradesh Speaker pushes for future-ready Amaravati Assembly design
Andhra Pradesh Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu has emphasised the need for the upcoming Assembly building in Amaravati to be designed with modern facilities and public accessibility in mind. The architectural vision was discussed during a meeting with the international design team overseeing the project.

Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu held discussions with representatives from Norman Foster + Partners, the renowned architectural firm leading the design of Andhra Pradesh's new Assembly building in Amaravati, during which he outlined his expectations for the structure.
Patrudu stressed that the Assembly complex must incorporate contemporary design principles while remaining accessible and welcoming to citizens. The Speaker emphasised that the building should serve not only as a functional legislative chamber but also as a symbol of democratic values and transparency.
During the high-level meeting, the Norman Foster + Partners team presented detailed plans regarding the layout and facilities being incorporated into the design. The presentation covered arrangements for members of the legislative assembly, government officials, media personnel, and visiting public, ensuring each stakeholder group would have appropriate access and facilities.
The new Assembly building is a key component of Andhra Pradesh's capital city development project. The design consultations underscore the state government's commitment to creating legislative infrastructure that meets contemporary standards while reflecting the aspirations of modern governance in India.
