Andhra Pradesh to establish 22 new dialysis centres across state

Andhra Pradesh is set to significantly expand its dialysis infrastructure with the establishment of 22 new treatment centres across the state, according to an announcement by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare access for patients requiring regular kidney dialysis treatment, a critical service for those with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal failure.

Each newly established centre will be equipped with five dialysis machines capable of conducting around 15 treatment sessions per day. This capacity represents a substantial addition to the state's existing renal care network, potentially benefiting thousands of patients who currently face limited access to dialysis services.

The expansion addresses a significant gap in healthcare infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh, where demand for dialysis facilities has grown with rising rates of kidney disease linked to diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions. By distributing these centres across the state, the government seeks to reduce travel burdens on patients and ensure more equitable access to life-sustaining treatment.

The project reflects the state's commitment to strengthening its healthcare delivery system and improving outcomes for patients with renal conditions. Officials indicated that the new facilities would be integrated into the broader network of government healthcare institutions across Andhra Pradesh.
