Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the first phase of the Veligonda project will be inaugurated on August 31, signaling a significant milestone for the state's water resource development agenda.
The inaugural phase of the project represents a substantial investment commitment, with ₹2,250 crore deployed over the past two years to bring the infrastructure to completion. The CM expressed satisfaction with the pace of execution and the successful delivery of Phase-I within the stipulated timeframe.
The Veligonda project is expected to augment water availability for irrigation and drinking water purposes in the region. The multi-phase development initiative has been identified as a key infrastructure priority for the state government.
