Andhra Pradesh is set to roll out the third phase of Palle Panduga, an ambitious rural development programme with an outlay of ₹11,085 crore starting from September 29. The scheme represents a significant investment in enhancing basic infrastructure and livelihood opportunities across the state's villages.
The third phase encompasses a diverse range of developmental activities aimed at improving rural living standards. Key components include construction of cement concrete and bituminous roads to enhance connectivity, establishment of mini Gokulams—small community water bodies—and installation of magic drains for improved water management. These initiatives address critical infrastructure gaps in village areas.
Agriculture remains a central focus of the programme, with plans to develop horticultural plantations across participating villages. This emphasis on horticulture is intended to diversify rural incomes and promote sustainable farming practices beyond traditional crops.
The Palle Panduga initiative reflects the state's sustained commitment to rural transformation, with previous phases having established foundational infrastructure. Officials expect the third phase to benefit multiple villages by improving access to essential services while creating employment opportunities during construction and ongoing maintenance of developed assets.
