Andhra Pradesh to offer free defence recruitment coaching to 100 youth annually
Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has announced a free training programme to prepare youth for Army and police recruitment examinations. The initiative aims to equip 100 candidates each year from the Dharmavaram constituency with skills needed to clear competitive defence service entrance tests.

The coaching programme, backed by Samskruti Seva Samithi and S.V. Defence Academy, has already demonstrated significant success in the region. According to Minister Yadav, 220 out of 236 candidates from the constituency who underwent coaching recently cleared the Agniveer recruitment examination, a critical entry point for military service in India.
The Agniveer scheme, which recruits personnel for short-term service in the armed forces, has become increasingly competitive. The free training initiative addresses the educational gap that often prevents talented youth from disadvantaged backgrounds from accessing defence careers.
The programme underscores efforts by the Andhra Pradesh government to enhance employment opportunities for rural and semi-urban youth. By providing structured coaching at no cost, officials aim to level the playing field for candidates who lack access to expensive private coaching institutes.
The success rate in recent recruitment drives suggests the training model is effective. State authorities indicate the programme will be scaled to benefit additional youth from other constituencies, pending funding and resource availability. The initiative reflects broader state-level focus on channelling youth into organised sector employment.
