Andhra Pradesh to release electoral rolls for 41 urban bodies on September 22

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) has announced that electoral rolls for 41 urban local bodies (ULBs) will be published on September 22, following the completion of ward delimitation processes in these areas.

The upcoming publication will cover major cities including Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam along with 39 other ULBs. This comes as the second phase of voter roll releases for urban bodies in the state, with the delimitation work in these particular ULBs extending into mid-September.

The SEC had previously released electoral rolls on September 3 for 17 corporations and 58 municipalities where delimitation exercises had been completed earlier. The staggered approach to publishing voter rolls reflects the varying timelines required to conduct delimitation work across different urban centres in Andhra Pradesh.

These electoral rolls form a critical component of the electoral process, serving as the official register of eligible voters for local body elections. The publication of comprehensive voter rolls enables the SEC to conduct free and fair urban local body elections across the state.
