Andhra Pradesh town to get model development status, says minister

Roads and Buildings Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy has declared Banaganapalle will be developed as a model town, signalling significant infrastructure investment in the area. The minister conducted an inspection of several ongoing and proposed projects, including a newly constructed Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) office and drainage works, as well as reviewing plans for a bypass road aimed at improving connectivity.

During his visit, Reddy laid the foundation stone for a shed at the Dastagiri Swamy Dargah, personally funding the construction of the religious structure. The move reflects efforts to combine civic infrastructure development with preservation of local heritage sites.

The model town designation suggests a comprehensive approach to urban planning for Banaganapalle, with focus on administrative facilities, public utilities, and transportation networks. The inspection of drainage systems and bypass infrastructure indicates prioritisation of basic amenities and traffic management as part of the development plan.

The minister's personal contribution towards the dargah project highlights the administration's intent to involve local stakeholders and religious institutions in the town's development narrative. Officials are expected to prepare detailed plans for implementing the model town initiative across various sectors.
