Andhra Pradesh urged to restore merit-based MBBS admission rules

The party contends that the current admission protocol has created barriers for qualified reserved category candidates seeking to access seats through competitive merit.

The demand reflects ongoing tensions in India's higher education system regarding the balance between reservation policies and merit-based selection. The Liberation Congress Party argues that reverting to G.O. No. 151 would enable talented students from reserved categories to pursue medical education while maintaining the constitutional framework of affirmative action.

The state government has not yet publicly responded to the party's request.
