Animal contact disrupts ETS and KTM Komuter services in Kuala Lumpur
Train services in the Klang Valley were disrupted Monday morning after suspected animal contact damaged a 25kV overhead power line. Both Express Rail Link and KTM Komuter experienced service delays affecting thousands of commuters.

KUALA LUMPUR — Express Rail Link (ETS) and KTM Komuter services were disrupted Monday following damage to critical railway infrastructure, with authorities attributing the incident to suspected contact with an animal.
The 25kV overhead power line serving the rail network was damaged in the incident, prompting immediate service suspensions on both operators' routes. The disruption occurred during morning peak hours, affecting numerous commuters traveling within the Klang Valley.
Both rail operators activated contingency measures and began restoration work to repair the damaged power line. Technicians assessed the extent of the damage while passengers were advised to seek alternative transportation arrangements.
Service resumption was expected once repairs to the overhead line infrastructure were completed and safety checks conducted. Both ETS and KTM Komuter issued regular updates regarding estimated restoration times throughout the morning disruption.
