Anti-bullying tribunal resolves first cases with compensation and remedies
An anti-bullying tribunal has received 55 complaints since its establishment, with five cases already settled through a combination of financial compensation, apologies, and counselling programmes. One victim received RM2,000 in compensation as part of the resolution process.

The tribunal, tasked with addressing bullying complaints across multiple sectors, has begun processing cases with a range of remedial outcomes designed to address both victim concerns and perpetrator behaviour. Among the five settled cases, compensation payments represent one approach to resolving disputes, though remedies have been tailored to individual circumstances.
Beyond financial compensation, the tribunal has employed alternative resolution methods including formal apologies from those found to have engaged in bullying behaviour. These apologies form part of a broader strategy to acknowledge harm and facilitate reconciliation between parties involved in disputes.
Counselling programmes for those found to have bullied others represent a preventative component of the tribunal's approach. By addressing underlying behavioural issues, the tribunal aims to reduce the likelihood of future incidents while supporting victims through structured resolution processes.
With 50 cases still pending, the tribunal continues to receive fresh complaints, indicating ongoing demand for formal mechanisms to address workplace, educational, and community bullying. Officials overseeing the tribunal have not provided timelines for resolving remaining cases.
