Anti-Bullying Tribunal Resolves Five Cases Among 55 Complaints

The anti-bullying tribunal has concluded its first batch of cases, addressing a growing concern over bullying incidents across the country. Among the 55 complaints lodged with the tribunal, five have been successfully resolved through various remedial measures tailored to individual circumstances.

One victim received monetary compensation of RM2,000 as restitution for damages suffered. The tribunal has demonstrated flexibility in its approach to resolution, moving beyond financial penalties to address the underlying issues that drive bullying behaviour.

Remedial outcomes have included formal apologies from perpetrators and mandatory counselling sessions designed to prevent future incidents. The tribunal's multi-faceted approach reflects recognition that effective bullying prevention requires not only accountability but also rehabilitation and awareness.

With 50 cases still pending review, the tribunal continues to process complaints and work toward resolutions. Officials have indicated that each case is assessed individually to determine the most appropriate remedies, considering both the impact on victims and the circumstances of the accused.
