The government will allocate budget funds to set up CIABOC branches in every province as part of efforts to decentralize anti-corruption operations, President Dissanayake announced at a National People's Power rally in Nikaweratiya on Friday. The expanded presence aims to strengthen the commission's reach beyond its existing Colombo-based operations, making corruption investigations more accessible across the country. The initiative signals the administration's commitment to tackling graft at provincial and local levels, where the majority of the population resides. By establishing offices nationwide, authorities seek to enable faster processing of corruption allegations and improve public access to the anti-corruption body's services. The budgetary allocation for the provincial expansion has been earmarked as part of the government's broader anti-corruption agenda under the new administration.
