Antique allocates P3M to honor and preserve local heroes' legacy

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Antique provincial government is moving to safeguard the historical legacy of its local heroes through a comprehensive preservation initiative approved during the Provincial Development Council's third quarter meeting Wednesday.

The project calls for establishing a dedicated hall within the provincial government's old capitol building and producing educational materials chronicling the achievements and life stories of prominent Antique figures. The council approved P3 million in budget allocation to support the undertaking.

The initiative aims to ensure future generations maintain awareness of the individuals who shaped the province's history and development. By consolidating information about these notable figures in a single venue and publishing accessible reading materials, provincial officials hope to foster greater appreciation for Antique's historical heritage.

The preservation effort reflects growing recognition among provincial leaders of the importance of documenting and honoring local heroes who contributed significantly to the region's political, social, and cultural development over the decades.
