BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim touched down in Brunei on Wednesday to participate in the 27th iteration of the Annual Leaders' Consultation, a key diplomatic gathering in the Southeast Asian calendar.

The two-day visit will see the Malaysian leader hold bilateral discussions with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The consultation is expected to cover matters of mutual interest to both nations, building on longstanding ties between Malaysia and Brunei.

The annual forum brings together senior leaders from the region to discuss pressing regional issues, economic cooperation, and bilateral relations. Malaysia and Brunei, both members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, have maintained close diplomatic and economic partnerships spanning decades.

During his stay, Anwar is scheduled to engage in official meetings and ceremonial functions befitting a prime ministerial visit. The consultation represents an important platform for high-level dialogue on regional stability, trade, and regional grouping matters.

The Prime Minister's delegation is expected to return to Malaysia following the conclusion of the two-day engagement.
