KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has categorically denied that the government issued any directives to delay or suspend the ongoing investigation into Felda, stating that the probe is being conducted without political interference.
Anwar's clarification came amid public speculation surrounding the pace and scope of the investigation into the Federal Land Development Authority. The prime minister emphasised that law enforcement and investigative agencies operate autonomously in matters of this nature, separate from ministerial influence.
The Felda investigation has been a subject of public interest given the authority's significance as a major government-linked agency managing land and settlement schemes for thousands of smallholders across Malaysia. Any allegations of financial irregularities or mismanagement at the organisation typically attract scrutiny from anti-corruption and law enforcement bodies.
Anwar's remarks underscore the government's stated commitment to independent investigations and the rule of law, principles that have featured prominently in the ruling coalition's platform since taking office.
