Anwar mobilises agencies to boost aid for Malaysians in India, Nepal

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed the National Security Council (MKN), the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) and the Foreign Ministry to ramp up coordinated efforts in providing aid to Malaysians in India and Nepal.
The directive underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding its citizens abroad and ensuring swift delivery of humanitarian assistance across the two nations. The agencies have been tasked with strengthening coordination mechanisms and resource allocation to address the needs of Malaysian nationals in the region.
The move reflects growing attention to welfare services for Malaysians residing or temporarily stationed in South Asian countries, where challenges including natural disasters, health emergencies and other crises may require rapid government intervention.
Official channels have been mobilised to ensure that diplomatic missions in both countries work closely with domestic agencies to identify gaps in current support systems and implement enhanced assistance programmes.
