Anwar Receives High Honour from Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was bestowed the Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati, commonly abbreviated as D.K., during a ceremony presided by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam. The honour represents one of Brunei's highest royal decorations and reflects the deep diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Brunei.

The conferment of the award underscores the strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations, which share maritime borders and collaborate on regional security and economic matters. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who has ruled Brunei since 1967, regularly recognises distinguished foreign leaders through such honours.

Anwar Ibrahim's receipt of the decoration comes amid ongoing regional engagement by Malaysia within ASEAN and with individual member states. The award highlights the continued importance both nations place on their relationship and their shared interests in maintaining regional stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia.
