NEW DELHI, Sept 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will hold three bilateral meetings today as part of his participation in the BRICS summit, signalling Malaysia's continued engagement with major regional economic powers.
The meetings will include a session with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as separate discussions with representatives from leading Indian companies. The engagements are scheduled to take place on the margins of the summit, one of the world's most significant forums for emerging market cooperation.
The discussions come as Malaysia seeks to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties with India amid growing regional integration efforts. India has emerged as a key player in South and Southeast Asia, with significant trade and investment interests across the region.
The bilateral meetings underline Malaysia's strategic approach to regional engagement, particularly with major economies driving development and investment in Asia. Such interactions at multilateral forums provide platforms for leaders to advance bilateral interests while contributing to broader regional dialogue.
