Anwar vows non-interference in Negeri Sembilan ruler succession

PENDANG, Sept 26 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has underscored the government's position of non-interference in matters pertaining to Negeri Sembilan's royal institution, emphasising that all decisions regarding the ruler's position must be determined strictly in accordance with constitutional provisions.

Anwar's statement comes as the Negeri Sembilan monarchy has faced periodic scrutiny in recent months. In reasserting the federal government's stance, the Prime Minister made clear that such matters fall squarely within the purview of established constitutional frameworks and should not be subject to political intervention.

The remarks reflect the government's broader commitment to upholding institutional independence and constitutional governance.
