Apayao cleanup drive removes 1.1 tons of river waste ahead of typhoon season

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A coordinated cleanup operation in Apayao has removed 1.1 tons of plastic and debris from the Tumog River as communities prepare for the typhoon season. The August 29 operation mobilized 608 volunteers who worked to clear roughly 40.17 kilometers of riverbanks, addressing environmental hazards that could exacerbate flooding during severe weather.
