The Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) has expressed its backing for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the organisation announced Thursday following a board meeting held in Jeddah.
The show of support from the regional football body underscores Infantino's continued backing among key football confederations ahead of potential challenges to his leadership position.
The UAFA, which represents football associations across the Arab world, met in the Saudi Arabian port city to discuss matters affecting the region's football governance and international relations.
Infantino has faced mounting pressure on multiple fronts during his tenure as FIFA president, making regional endorsements strategically significant for his position within world football's governing structures.
