Army Chief calls for heightened vigilance, intelligence ops in Kashmir

General Dhiraj Seth, India's Army Chief, has called for sharper intelligence-led operations and sustained vigilance to address evolving security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir. During operational visits to forward areas in north and central Kashmir on Friday, including Kupwara and Budgam districts, Gen Seth reviewed the combat preparedness of deployed forces.

The Army Chief visited the Rashtriya Rifles sector headquarters under the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, where he assessed the operational readiness for counter-terrorist operations, according to the Additional Directorate General of Public Information. During the visit, Gen Seth received briefings on the current security environment and the protocols in place to detect, deter, and respond decisively to terrorist threats.

Gen Seth commended military personnel for their professionalism, dedication, and high operational standards. He stressed the importance of maintaining constant vigilance and enhancing intelligence-based operations to stay ahead of security threats in the region. The Army Chief's emphasis on intelligence-led approaches underscores the military's strategic focus on proactive counter-insurgency measures in Kashmir.
