Army completes BARMM election deployment, refocuses on territorial defense

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The last contingent of the Army's 10th Infantry Division (ID) has returned to its home base after supporting security operations during the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections held on September 14.

The division had deployed four battalions to the region to assist in securing the historic elections. With all units now back at their permanent stations, the military can proceed with planned initiatives to strengthen territorial defense capabilities across the country.

The redeployment marks a successful conclusion to the division's election security mission and reflects the Army's ability to manage multiple operational commitments. The return of personnel and equipment to Cagayan de Oro signals readiness to execute the next phase of the service's strategic priorities.

Military officials have indicated that the completion of the BARMM assignment will enable a smooth transition to enhanced territorial defense operations. The 10th Infantry Division's successful mission execution demonstrates coordination between national security forces and regional authorities in support of democratic processes in Mindanao.
