CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Army's 10th Infantry Division (10ID) formally recognized 78 members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) who have concluded their service and transitioned to reserve status. The milestone ceremony, held in Davao de Oro, marked the first formal integration of retiring CAFGU personnel into the Army Reserve Force, according to military officials.

The retiring CAFGU members were presented separation gratuity pay during the recognition event, honoring their years of service on the frontlines in internal security operations. The CAFGU Active Auxiliary operates under the Army's command structure, with members typically engaged in counter-insurgency and territorial security missions across their assigned areas.

The transition from active to reserve status represents a significant development in how the Armed Forces manages its civilian auxiliary force. By formally integrating retiring members into the reserve component, the military maintains institutional knowledge and preserves a trained workforce for potential future deployment if national security requirements warrant mobilization.

The 10ID, based in Mindanao, oversees military operations across a region historically affected by armed conflict and insurgent activity. The integration of these experienced CAFGU personnel into the reserve force adds depth to the division's operational capabilities while allowing retiring members to conclude their active service with proper recognition and benefits.
